Where Legendary Texas Hospitality Meets World-Class Hunting

Plaska Lodge is proud to have been welcoming hunters for over 30 years and managing wildlife with care and intention for more than four decades. Located in the southeastern corner of the Texas Panhandle, we operate on over 10,000 acres of intensely managed land. Located just four hours from the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex and only an hour and a half from Amarillo, our ranch offers easy access to some of the most unique hunting experiences in Texas.

Situated just off the Llano Estacado caprock, our region serves as the meeting point of eastern and western U.S. wildlife species. The terrain here is incredibly diverse, with each of our ranches offering its own unique advantages and challenges. From rugged canyon country and mesquite flats to winding river bottoms, cultivated farmland, and prickly pear-covered sandhills—Plaska Lodge truly has it all.

We offer fully customizable, all-inclusive hunting packages for ten species of free-range native and invasive game, as well as more than fifteen species of exotic game on our two game preserves. Whether you’re a first-time hunter eager to learn or a seasoned sportsman in search of your next adventure, we tailor every experience to meet your needs.

Plaska Lodge is built in the heart of the ghost town of Plaska, Texas. We’ve carefully restored and repurposed the 100+ year-old general store into a warm, inviting lodge that sleeps up to 12 guests. The lodge features six private bedrooms and two bunk-style rooms, combining modern comfort with rustic charm.

Heated entirely by wood stoves, the lodge offers the unmistakable scent of woodsmoke and the soothing crackle of a fire—welcoming you back from the field with warmth and character even on the coldest of days. Enjoy legendary Texas hospitality, home-cooked meals, and the peace and quiet of the country on our scenic and remote properties. At Plaska Lodge, we don’t just offer world-class hunting—we offer a place to slow down, reconnect, and make lasting memories, both in the field and back at the lodge.

Deer

Our all inclusive deer hunting packages can be tailored to your needs, and offer the exclusive opportunity to chase some of the best white-tail and mule deer genetics in the state of Texas.

Exotics

We offer fully guided, all-inclusive, spot-and-stalk hunts for over fifteen species of world-class trophy exotics—right here in the Texas panhandle. These hunts are action-packed, hassle-free, and some of the most exciting experiences you’ll find anywhere.

Hog

We are known for harvesting some of the biggest boars in the U.S. From January through July, we offer the opportunity to harvest huge trophy hogs or meat hogs. This is one of our most popular off-season packages.

Dove

Our all-inclusive dove hunting packages can be tailored to fit your needs, offering fast-paced action along some of the most productive flyways in the Texas Panhandle. With optional varmint hunting included, it’s the perfect way to kick off the fall season with some of the best dove hunting this side of the Panama Canal.

Turkey

Home to the Rio Grande turkey, Plaska Lodge offers a unique opportunity to harvest two toms in a single trip. Our all-inclusive packages pair you with a professional guide to help you put a true Lone Star longbeard on the ground.

Quail

The Texas Panhandle Bobwhite quail population is unbeatable. We will provide guides and dogs, or you are welcomed to bring your own. This is a great opportunity for groups of any size.

Accommodations

Plaska Lodge is a historic 100 year-old-general store. Enjoy a rustic old west setting, heated by wood burning stoves, filled with antiques and memorabilia from the early 1900’s. You will stay in your own private bedroom, and dine on Texas style home cooking.

Hunting Ranches are the Ultimate Choice for the Outdoorsman

For many, hunting is more than a pastime, it’s a time-honored tradition, passed down through generations. Across the United States and around the world, people pursue game not only for food and sport, but for the unparalleled connection it brings to the land, the wildlife, and each other. Hunters have long explored public and state-owned lands, but a professionally managed, private Texas ranch offers a level of quality, comfort, and success that’s hard to match and well worth considering.

Cost

Many people might find the cost of an all-inclusive hunt on a private ranch prohibitive when choosing their hunting experience. However, these hunts will save you money in the long run. For example, if you consider a hunting lease, you’re not only paying the lease fee, but also investing in feeders, blinds, feed, batteries, equipment, cameras, fuel, and a long list of other expenses. On top of that, there’s the time spent driving, scouting, and setting up, all for just a few weekends of hunting each season, and you might still come home empty-handed. When you choose to come to an all-inclusive private hunting lodge, the only thing you need to focus on is getting here. We handle the rest. Our comfortable lodge with private bedrooms, home-cooked meals, professional guides, and modern amenities offers you the best chance to pursue the trophies you’ve been dreaming about.

Success & Quality

While the memories and stories made in the field and at the lodge are one of the most meaningful parts of the hunt, optimizing your chances of success should always be a key consideration when deciding how to invest your time and money. Like many hunters, I’ve spent countless hours on both public and private lands that turned out to just be poor habitat—previously mismanaged properties or areas where game populations were all but gone. After hundreds of hours driving, scouting, prepping, and hunting, you sometimes don’t even lay eyes on a set of antlers all season.
At Plaska Lodge, we take the guesswork out of the equation. With over forty years of intensive wildlife management on a property already blessed with some of the best genetics in the country, we have built something truly special. We work hand in hand with wildlife biologists to ensure proper forage, balanced population numbers, and minimal hunting pressure across our properties.
This is our daily work—caring for the habitat, improving the land, and doing everything we can to give our hunters the best opportunity at success. When you arrive, every detail has been carefully managed to provide not only a fair chance at a trophy, but an experience you’ll never forget.

Why Plaska Lodge?

With hundreds of outfitters in Texas and thousands more across the country, why should you choose to spend your time and money at Plaska Lodge?

A Worry-Free, Personal Experience
When you book a hunt with Plaska Lodge, you don’t have to second-guess your decision or wonder if you picked the right outfitter. With more than thirty years of proven experience for our team, we’ve fine-tuned every part of the process to ensure a smooth, comfortable, and hassle-free stay. From your very first call or email, you’ll deal directly with me. I don’t just run the business from a distance. I personally greet every guest, help prepare meals, drive hunters around the ranch, clean game, and often guide hunts myself. This isn’t a big operation where you’re passed from one person to the next—it’s a hands-on, start-to-finish experience with someone who genuinely cares about your hunt.

A Team That Lives the Lifestyle
This isn’t a seasonal side business for us—it’s our way of life. My family and I live on this land, work it every day, and are deeply invested in everything that happens here. I found a passion for guiding hunters at a young age, and that passion continues to grow with every new hunter we welcome to the lodge. When you hunt with us, you’re more than just a name on the calendar. You’re a valued guest—and often, a lifelong friend. Whether you have questions, want help preparing, need honest advice, or just want to talk hunting, I’m here for you every step of the way.

Transparent, Honest Booking
We believe in being up front—no fine print, no gimmicks, no surprises. Our hunts include what we say they include. If we offer three days of hunting, that’s exactly what you’ll get—not one full day and two half days. Lodging before and after your hunt is always included to make sure your trip is as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. Any potential add-ons or fees are clearly communicated before you book, so you always know the value you’re getting and the exact cost of your hunt. Our goal is simple: to earn your trust before you ever set foot on the ranch, and to deliver an experience that exceeds expectations the moment you do.

More than Just a Hunt
I’ve spent my entire adult life dedicated to wildlife, land stewardship, and guiding others on hunting adventures they’ll never forget. This isn’t just a job to me—it’s a calling. Every hunter I’ve had the privilege of hosting leaves a mark on me, and I consider it a true blessing to help each of you write your own hunting story here at Plaska Lodge. When you come hunt with us, you’re not just another booking—you’re part of something meaningful. I will always give you my best effort, treat you like family, and do everything in my power to give you not only a shot at success, but a hunt worth remembering. We’d be honored to host you at Plaska Lodge. If you have any questions, want to start planning your hunt, or just want to talk shop, don’t hesitate to reach out. Give me a call or shoot me an email anytime—I’d love to hear from you.

God bless,

Camden Packwood
